Kuapa Kokoo

Kpeya Agricultural Enterprise (KAE), the only Fairtrade certified cooperative in Sierra Leone has become a major beneficiary of Kuapa Kokoo’s benevolence.

Kuapa Kokoo agreed to allow Divine Chocolate – the chocolate company it co-owns to purchase some cocoa beans from the Sierra Leone based company.

Most farmers in Sierra Leone find it difficult to make ends meet since their market is totally liberalized unlike that of Ghana. Most of them can hardly read and so are most often cheated. Understanding just how difficult it must be for the farmers in Sierra Leone who have just come out of a brutal and disruptive civil war, this gesture was aimed at improving the livelihoods of members of KAE.

Kuapa Kokoo is very proud to announce that chocolate lovers across the globe can now taste Fairtrade Chocolate from Sierra Leone in Divine Chocolate!
